· Practical experience in the design and development of standard operating policies and procedures in respect of accounting, finance, and administrative functions. For this purpose, extensive experience in requirements analysis and designing of feasible accounting and administrative systems through interviews and discussions;

· Familiarity with financial analysis and control, including experience of suggesting improvements to existing systems in order to curtail expenses by comparing them with budgets and to ensure better procurement beneficial to the organization;

JOB AT SAUDI PAK COMMERCIAL BANK LIMITED

March 2007 to date

On March 01, 2007 I joined Saudi Pak Commercial Bank Limited as Finance Coordinator, Finance Division, Regional Office – North, I-8 Markaz, Islamabad

My principal responsibilities are to coordinate activities pertaining to Finance Division at regional level and to supervise/ execute instructions of our Finance Division, Central Office Karachi. Regular activities include collection of financial and non-financial data from branches pertaining to advances, deposits, product sales, etc. and after compilation reporting to the regional head.

On occasional and ad hoc basis, I am also involved in financial appraisal for sanctioning of corporate and SME loans/ advances. Verification of markup accruals and suggesting adjustment suspected miscalculated markup accounts is also delegated to me on monthly and quarterly basis.

I am involved in data cleansing and improvement of MIS and streamlining recordkeeping activities of branches coming under the north region.

JOB AT A CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT FIRM

February 2005 to March 2006

Immediately after completion of my training period from Ijaz Tabussum & Co. Chartered Accountants, I joined the firm as Assistant Manager.

My role was primarily to direct and manage audits and consulting engagements of high profile to the highest standard of quality, ensuring optimum efficiency and effectiveness. It also involved ensuring effective delivery of the audit and advisory services to clients including accounting technical matters.

TRAINING UNDER CA BYE LAWS (ARTICLESHIP)

I started my articleship in February 2001. I did my articleship with two chartered accountant firms in Islamabad. 01 years in Hussain Rehamn & Co. Chartered Accounts and 03 years in Ijaz Tabussum & Co. Chartered Accountants.

SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE GAINED DURING ARTICLESHIP AND JOB AT A CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT FIRM

Financial audits — I did financial audits of 11 to 15 concerns, some small and some big.

Corporate — I was involved in Incorporation of private and public companies.

Tax — Assisted managers in filing of various returns and preparation of appeals and revisions to be filed to tax authorities.

Special assignments — I was involved in consultancy and management services. I did internal audits, system reviews/ audits, special financial audits, developed accounting and internal control manuals, established accounting and administrative systems and procedures, assisted in designing  of accounting software containing various modules, and vetted accounting manuals. I also did operational and financial performance audits as per TORs, made financial projections and reviewed human resource requirements of the industry for the purpose of performance/ management audits.

I was involved in development of some proposals and feasibility studies as well.

PRIVATE LEVEL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

I was primarily involved in provision of consultancy services to organizations and individuals in relation to software development. I also developed commercially usable database based software packages for bookkeeping and primary level reporting i.e. general ledger & trial balances in both FoxPro for DOS/ Windows and Visual Basic 6.0.

PARTNERSHIP IN A SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT HOUSE

Served as partner in a software development house, which became a private limited company later on. I was mainly responsible for handling of accounting function. I however also assisted in project evaluations and execution of projects relating to software development.

Other work-related experiences

· Using various customized and ready-made accounting software packages. (Novice level experience only)

· Working in MS-Office products. In particular, I have experience of using MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS Visio (for process flowcharting).
